چکیده

New Triassic Diptera Nematocera from Central Asia are described: Mabelysia chadesi (Limoniidae), Gnomusca molecula and G. renysa (?Limoniidae, Gnomuscinae subfam. n.), Vymrhyphus tuomikoskii and V . triassicus (Protorhyphidae, Anisopodoidea), Nadiptera Raluginae and N . pulchella (Nadipteridae fam. n., Ptychopteroidea), Vladipfera Rovalmi, Dilemma/a specu/a, Psychotipa predicta, and P. depicta (all Vladipteroidea superfam. n. and Vladipteridae fam. n., two latter Psychotipinae subfam. n.), Kuperwoodia benefica and Anemeca l iya (both Hennigmatoidea superfam. n. and Hemigmatidae fam. n., the former Kupenvoodiinae subfam. n.). The type of the latter family, Hentiigma cladistorum, is described from the Cretaceous of Mongolia, and Nadipfera anachrona from the Jurassic of Kyrgyzstan. Mesozoic Eoptychopteridae are divided into three subfamilies. The Jurassic family Ansorgiidae is transferred into Blephariceroidea; Triassic Alinkidae is provisionally assigned to Pachyneuroidea. The most primitive dipterans, Vladipteridae, are placed in Tipulomorpha. The radiation of Nematocera is discussed (original phylochronograrn and modified system given); some infraordinal concepts are criticized. The origin of Diptera from Permian Mecoptera similar to Robinjohniidae is suggested; it's hypothesized that the dipteran wing structure was formed mainly due to transfer of mecopteran hindwing characters onto the forewing.

Biogeography of Triassic tetrapods: evidence for provincialism and driven sympatric cladogenesis in the early evolution of modern tetrapod lineages.

Triassic tetrapods are of key importance in understanding their evolutionary history, because several tetrapod clades, including most of their modern lineages, first appeared or experienced their initial evolutionary radiation during this Period. In order to test previous palaeobiogeographical hypotheses of Triassic tetrapod faunas, tree reconciliation analyses (TRA) were performed with the aim...

Higher Level Phylogeny and the First Divergence Time Estimation of Heteroptera (Insecta: Hemiptera) Based on Multiple Genes

Heteroptera, or true bugs, are the largest, morphologically diverse and economically important group of insects with incomplete metamorphosis. However, the phylogenetic relationships within Heteroptera are still in dispute and most of the previous studies were based on morphological characters or with single gene (partial or whole 18S rDNA). Besides, so far, divergence time estimates for Hetero...

A late-surviving basal theropod dinosaur from the latest Triassic of North America.

The oldest theropod dinosaurs are known from the Carnian of Argentina and Brazil. However, the evolutionary diversification of this group after its initial radiation but prior to the Triassic-Jurassic boundary is still poorly understood because of a sparse fossil record near that boundary. Here, we report on a new basal theropod, Daemonosaurus chauliodus gen. et sp. nov., from the latest Triass...

Paleoenvironment, Biostratigraphy and Sequence stratigraphic studies of the Permian-Triassic boundrary of the offshore Persian Gulf, Iran: using an integrated approach.

Four supergiant and numerous giant gasfields have been discovered in the Southwest Iran which produce from Permian-Triassic carbonates belong to the upper member of Dalan Formation and Kangan Formation. In this research a detailed biostratigraphic, microfacies and sequence stratigraphic study of the late Middle Permian to Triassic successions was undertaken from 850 thin sections prepared from ...

High Diversity, Low Disparity and Small Body Size in Plesiosaurs (Reptilia, Sauropterygia) from the Triassic–Jurassic Boundary

Invasion of the open ocean by tetrapods represents a major evolutionary transition that occurred independently in cetaceans, mosasauroids, chelonioids (sea turtles), ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs. Plesiosaurian reptiles invaded pelagic ocean environments immediately following the Late Triassic extinctions. This diversification is recorded by three intensively-sampled European fossil faunas, span...
